Gregory K. Mayer, M.D., MBA

Gregory K. Mayer, MD, MBA is Professor of Practice at Arizona State University’s College of Health Solutions. Prior to joining ASU in 2016 Dr. Mayer worked 18 years at Hospice of the Valley spending the last eight years as Senior VP of Clinical Operations. While at Hospice of the Valley he was instrumental in developing relationships with numerous health systems, businesses and community organizations. Example of which is the collaboration with Mayo Clinic with the construction of the Sherman Home, an inpatient hospice home on the Mayo Hospital campus. The ongoing relationship also lead to the establishment of the Mayo Clinic / Hospice of the Valley Fellowship in Palliative Medicine. Dr. Mayer practiced general surgery prior to joining Hospice of the Valley.

Dr. Mayer received his B.S. from Arizona State University and M.D. from Tulane School of Medicine. His postgraduate training in general surgery was at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota. In 2005 he received his M.B.A. in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
