Scholarship Application

The ElevateMeD Scholars program is a multifaceted program designed to develop the next generation of physician leaders.  In the inaugural year, ElevateMeD will competitively award $40,000 scholarships ($10,000 each year) to the ten most talented medical students from backgrounds underrepresented in medicine.

Application Timelines

Nominee Information Session (MON 2/3/25 at 5:00 PM MT)

Medical students nominated to apply for the 2025-26 ElevateMeD Scholars program will have the opportunity to meet Scholarship Committee Chair, Dr. Tiffany Hardaway, learn more about the scholars program, what’s expected from applicants, and ask questions. Nominees will receive the Zoom link for the session and the access code to apply via email when applications open on MON 2/3/25 at 6:00 AM MT.

Requirements

  • Nomination from a Participant School

  • 1 Faculty Letter of Recommendation

  • Submit a 5 minutes max video application in your white coat
    (review what to include and tips for recording below)

  • Submit a high resolution headshot
    (if selected will be used for marketing, see example)

  • Sign ElevateMeD Scholars Terms of Submission Agreement

    • Agree to participate in ElevateMeD Programs including but not limited to: Mentorship, Financial Literacy, Leadership Development and an annual Scholars Summit

    • Agree to promote ElevateMeD and attend events

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrates capacity for leadership in current and future activities

  • Exemplifies the mission and vision of our organization and can represent ElevateMeD well

Decisions of the selection committee will be announced via email, are final, and are not subject to appeal.  No application feedback will be given.

TIPS FOR RECORDING YOUR APPLICATION VIDEO

  • WARDROBE: Wear your pressed white coat.

  • VIDEO FORMAT/SETUP: FILM YOUR RECORDING HORIZONTAL/LANDSCAPE Whether recording from a laptop, desktop or mobile device so that your camera angle is level to the floor and horizontal.  Position yourself close to the screen so that we can see from the top of your head to your upper torso only.  This also ensures that we can hear you clearly by having you positioned closer to the microphone of your device.

  • CLEAR BACKGROUND/WORKSPACE: Make sure that your area that is in camera view is clear from any sensitive information, is clear and neat, and without any brand labels present that could present potential trademark issues.

  • GOOD LIGHTING: Natural daylight is best.  If you have the option to be in an area with daylight place your video setup there for this recording.  If you do not have access to record with daylight, make sure that there is enough available light to see you clearly.

  • REMOVE BACKGROUND NOISE: Select a quiet area that is free from background noise.
