2026-27 Application

The ElevateMeD Scholars program is a multifaceted program designed to develop the next generation of physician leaders.  In the inaugural year, ElevateMeD competitively awarded $100,000 in scholarships ($10,000 each year) to the ten most talented medical students.

Share the news! Open call for the 2026-27 ElevateMeD Scholars program.

Each selected ElevateMeD Scholar will be awarded a tuition-based scholarship as a medical student enrolled full-time at an accredited medical school. In addition to scholarship support, Scholars receive physician mentorship, leadership development opportunities, financial literacy, and access to ElevateMeD network support. They are invited to our annual Explosion of a Dream Scholars Summit, an all expenses paid internal conference, where they receive storytelling and public speaking coaching, financial literacy education and workshops tailored to their professional development.

Timeline

  • Applications Open: Monday, January 5, 2026
    *The 1st 300 applications completed will be considered.

  • Applications Close: Applications will close after the 1st 300 applications have been received or at the latest MON 2/2/26 11:59 PM PT. Once applications close, the application portal will be updated and incomplete applications and school contacts will be notified via email.

  • Applicant Interviews: Week of April 1, 2026

  • Scholarship recipients announced: May 4, 2026

Requirements

The 2026-27 ElevateMeD Scholars program is designed for medical students in their 4th year of medical school. Students should anticipate applying for the program during their 3rd year of medical school.

To apply medical students must:

  • anticipate graduating/matching in 2027

  • be actively enrolled full-time in an MD/DO program at an accredited U.S. medical school

  • be a U.S. Citizen 

Step 1 of the application requires students to complete a program eligibility check. Applicants will answer 9 predefined eligibility questions. If determined as ineligible, applicants will be notified and unable to proceed with the full application.

Selection Criteria

  • Demonstrates capacity for leadership in current and future activities

  • Exemplifies the mission and vision of our organization and can represent ElevateMeD well

Decisions of the scholarship committee will be announced via email, are final, and are not subject to appeal.  No application feedback will be given.

    *Applicants should plan to participate in their MD/DO program on campus full-time for the 2026-27 academic year and apply to the 2027 residency match cycle.

  • All applicants will request a letter of recommendation from a school faculty member in their ElevateMeD application. Our application system, Submittable, will ask for the email address of the school faculty member you are requesting a letter of recommendation from. Once you enter their email address and click send request, they will be sent an email from Submittable requesting they complete a reference form that will allow them to upload the letter of recommendation to your application. You will receive a notification from Submittable when your requester has completed their submission form.
